Pivot Window

Pivot windows are a type of window design that differs from the traditional casement windows in terms of their opening mechanism.

Pivoting Mechanism: Unlike traditional casement windows that swing open on side-mounted hinges, pivot windows operate by pivoting from a central point within the frame. This pivot can be either vertical (top and bottom) or horizontal (left and right), depending on the design and installation.
Roof Windows: Pivot windows are not limited to vertical or horizontal orientations; they are also commonly used in roof windows. These roof windows may offer the option of a higher pivot point to provide more headroom and space for standing or moving directly in front of the window.
Opening Process: To open a pivot window, you release catches or locking mechanisms on the casement, which allows it to pivot around its central axis. This pivot action provides full access to the window opening.
No Tilt Option: Unlike some traditional casement windows that may have a tilt function for ventilation, pivot windows typically do not have this feature. Instead, they rely on the pivoting action to control airflow and provide access.
Versatility in Design: Pivot windows offer a wide range of design options. While rectangular pivot windows are common, they also provide circular and oval pivot windows. Additionally, door-sized pivot windows are available, which can serve as both windows and entry/exit points in a home.
